CHAÇOS
CHALLENGE
Two days of trails, roadbook in hand and 40 cars itching to get off the tarmac. Objectives to complete, prizes for the fastest to complete them — and the best company on dirt.
The event
THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT'S BETTER.
The Chaços Challenge is an off-road challenge: a route designed down to the millimetre through trails and dirt tracks you can't see from the tarmac, with checkpoints, an official roadbook, objectives to complete — and prizes for the teams that reach them in the shortest time.
Twice a year we bring together 40 cars and their crews for two days of serious driving and even more serious camaraderie. From the prepped 4x4 to the stock jeep, from father and son to the lifelong group of friends: if you love dirt, there's a seat at the table for you.
Laid-back spirit, professional organisation. That's the mix that got us here — and it's why the spots disappear in days.

QUESTIONS FROM PEOPLE HEADED FOR THE DIRT
Which cars can take part?
Pretty much any machine itching to get off the tarmac — 4x4s, jeeps, pick-ups and SUVs with real off-road capability. Besides up-to-date documents, valid inspection and active insurance, the car must comply with the edition's technical rules (mandatory equipment) and goes through an organisation inspection on arrival day. The car rules will be published soon — if in doubt, talk to us before registering.
How many people per car?
Each car takes 2 people: driver and co-driver. The registration fee is per person (total per car: 2 × €435) — that's the information we use to arrange accommodation, meals and the kit. A team can enter as many cars as it wants (same team name on every registration) and joins the team standings, where the best 3 results count.
How does payment work?
After you submit the form, your spot is reserved for 48 hours and you receive payment instructions: bank transfer (IBAN) or Revolut, with a unique reference for your registration. As soon as the organisation confirms receipt, you get the confirmation email with your participant number. The fee is per person and the total corresponds to the car's occupants.
What if I need to cancel?
Contact the organisation by email as early as possible. Cancellation and refund conditions are set out in each edition's rules; the earlier you let us know, the easier it is to pass your spot to the next person on the waitlist.
What's included in the price?
Registration includes hotel accommodation, the programme's meals (2 dinners, 2 breakfasts and 1 lunch), the kit with edition souvenirs and full organisation support along the route. Fuel and tolls are each team's responsibility, unless stated otherwise in the programme.
Is this a race? Are there prizes?
It's not a speed race — it's an off-road challenge. There are objectives and checkpoints to complete, and yes: there are prizes for the teams that reach them in the shortest time. The difference is made by navigation, strategy and smart driving, not the accelerator. On public-road sections, the road code always applies.
Do I need special insurance or documents?
Documents: valid driving licence, active car insurance and up-to-date inspection. In addition, the rules require mandatory equipment in the vehicle: sump guard, off-road tyres, tow strap, hi-vis vests, fire extinguisher, basic tools, jack and spare wheel — all checked at check-in. See the full rules on their own page.
What is the waitlist?
When the 40 cars sell out, the form switches to a waitlist — you're registered without paying anything. If a spot opens up, the organisation contacts people in order of entry and only then is payment made.
